IT Security
What is IT security actually and why is it so important?
IT security is a frequently underestimated issue that is usually not visible to users. This makes the reliable maintenance of ongoing operations all the more critical. Frequently, scant attention is paid to it in the everyday life of many companies, as its benefits remain hidden. Its importance is often only recognised when damage has already occurred. Security is one of the more complex and less tangible issues. This makes it all the more important to have reliable experts who can properly assess the security requirements and help to set up and maintain a secure IT infrastructure so that you can focus on the core tasks of your business.
At Marketing Factory we devote a lot of attention to security issues and have been a reliable partner in these matters for over 20 years.
There are many factors and threats involved in IT security. Many of them are common to us and our customers in their everyday working lives, such as distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks on web servers, routine application upgrades, and data security.
How can you improve your IT security?
DDos Protection: Protection against distributed denial-of-service attacks on your web server
In recent years, we have seen time and time again that a web server that we support is essentially "brought to its knees". Users notice this in that their request to the affected website is not answered and is acknowledged after some time with a server error (usually "503 – Service unavailable").
This can be caused by what is known as a DDoS attack (Distributed Denial of Service). The affected web server is targeted with a flood of simultaneous requests from different sources with the aim of overloading it so that it is no longer capable of responding. In most cases, only rebooting and blocking the requesting clients will help. This kind of failure can sometimes last several hours and result in a significant loss of sales, for example in a online shop.
We use DDoS protection to technically ensure that these attacks are promptly detected and averted to prevent your server from being overloaded and your services going down.
Constant security through regular application updates
It should be assumed that, sooner or later, any software will become vulnerable to external attacks. Digital apps are highly complex products. The more components they contain, the greater is the risk of an emerging vulnerability, and the more frequently the app needs to be reviewed and patched. We ensure that all the components of your application are always up-to-date to reduce the risk of danger to an absolute minimum with the aid of close monitoring and a standardised and automated deployment process.
Secure storage of your digital data
It has been increasingly important for some years to protect digitally processed (especially personal) data. The requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Privacy Directive for Electronic Communications (also known as the ePrivacy Directive) often present major challenges for the responsible companies.
It is important to always balance the interests and rights of the users with the company's own interests to ensure an outstanding user experience and also the cost-effectiveness of the company's own online offer.
We ensure from a technical perspective that any data for which you are responsible is protected from unauthorised access in order to ensure its integrity and consistency at all times. In addition, we also support you conceptually and developmentally in implementing the legal requirements with creative ideas and a wealth of experience.
DDoS Protection
We secure your systems against DDoS attacks with pre-emptive monitoring and prevent unwanted system failures.
Continuous Upgrading
We immediately close security vulnerabilities and keep the technical basis of your website up-to-date by means of continuous app updates.
Privacy First
We protect and respect your data and your clients' data, and always take a 'Privacy First' approach in web projects.
