Hosting in the Marketing Factory Infrastructure
Operation of customer applications on our colocation hardware
We operate our own infrastructure to host our clients' applications in the Colt Technolgy Services data centre in Düsseldorf. Our entire infrastructure links to Colt's global IP network via a dual redundant connection.
We provide all the capacity required for our clients' applications on an n+1 redundant Linux cluster running on a Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM). We exclusively use fast SSD memories as storage for our nodes, which themselves are designed to be redundant. This has a direct impact on the performance of the applications, and provides for corresponding failure safety on the nodes.
Live applications are automatically mirrored within the cluster – if a node fails, another node in the cluster continues to run the applications immediately. This enables even unanticipated, major hardware failures to be absorbed and large-scale maintenance work to be carried out without your users ever noticing.
The individual virtual machines (VM) and nodes are configured by a central management system – keyword: Configuration as Code. The configuration is fully version controlled and can be reverted to an earlier version at any time. By centrally configuring the systems, we speed up administration and implicitly also reduce time to market.
