Recap: Shopware Community Day for Developer 2023
On Wednesday 24 May 2023, the Shopware Community Day for developers took place in the beautiful Landschaftspark in Duisburg. Luckily I was able to get one of the tickets and I was able to finally travel to a conference by bike and attend a pure Shopware developer conference for the first time.
In contrast to the last SCD in Ahaus, the developers day is a very small event that is only about technology - with very little marketing around it and with a lot of honest exchange. Thumbs up for that!
Old school presentation
The Community Day started with an overhead projector and an entertaining story by Stefan Hamann about the history of Shopware. Now we know why there is actually no version 2.1 of Shopware.
For me, the talks Composable Frontends (although I don't code frontends) and Running Shopware at Scale were particularly interesting. We will definitely take a closer look at Composable Frontends, hopefully we will be able to have dynamic content in the shop more easily than writing extensions with php and twig.
In this year's Shopware vs. Community challenge, the task was to generate an AI-generated image of the Shopware elephant. This time the Shopware team won, exciting to see what steps were necessary (and what failed attempts there were). Congratulations to Shyim!
By the way, the solution was:

All talks availiable as online video
I especially liked the talk "we rise above beyond". As soon as the video is available online: watch it!
All talks are available as video on demand, just register on the SCD website.
